Former Yankees trade target is good as advertised for Mariners

Worth it.

A huge chunk of the pre-trade deadline buzz surrounded former Cincinnati Reds ace Luis Castillo.

And the Seattle Mariners won the bidding war.

Mariners pitcher Erik Swanson talked about what’s its been like having Castillo. Via a clip posted to SiriusXM MLB Network’s Twitter:

“He has been as advertised. Everyone throughout the league knows who he is. Being able to have him as part of our rotation. when we found our we were getting him, everyone was very excited. And then to have him come over and not miss a beat from where he was at is awesome. His last couple starts with us have been phenomenal.”

Castillo has made three start since the Mariners acquired him before the trade deadline from the Cincinnati Reds. He’s 1-0 with a 2.18 ERA, collecting 24 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched.
