
Shekib works in the Managing Editor’s Office as The Wall Street Journal newsroom’s business and finance analyst, based in Princeton, N.J.
He first joined the Journal as the house manager in the Kabul bureau, working there from September 2020 to August 2021. He played a key role in Dow Jones’s efforts to expatriate dozens of Afghan colleagues and their families and relocate them to a safe country following the country’s takeover by the Taliban. After the evacuation, Shekib became the Journal’s logistics coordinator and translator for the Afghan families, who were in Mexico awaiting permanent resettlement in Canada and the U.S.
Shekib studied business administration and management from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Haryana, India. He also earned a graduate diploma in international business at the Jagannath Institute of Management and Sciences in New Delhi. He speaks Dari, Hindi, Pashto, Swedish and Tajiki.
