Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.07% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Laurus(up 1.0 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.87 per cent), Biocon(up 0.85 per cent), Cipla(up 0.84 per cent) and Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 0.74 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 1.47 per cent), Lupin(down 0.59 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.41 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.37 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.07 per cent at 11757.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.2 points at 17691.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 210.74 points at 60137.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Tata Steel, Zomato Ltd. and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products Ltd., Usha Martin, Revathi Equip, Kirloskar Ind and De Nora India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Future Consumer, Vineet Laboratories Ltd., GTL Infra, Supreme Engineering and Suumaya Lifestyle hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
