The Dow is back to its record-setting ways.
The blue-chip index was up 542 points, or 1.1%, with the vast majority of its member stocks on the rise on Tuesday. Though it’s a touch below its intraday record, the Dow is on track to top its Oct. 28 closing high of 47,706.37. This would be the Dow’s 16th closing high of the year.
The S&P 500 was up 0.3%, despite struggles among large tech stocks. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.2%; the last time the Dow rose more than 1% but the Nasdaq fell on the same day was March 31, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
