President Donald Trump’s motorcade was delayed as it waded through hundreds of protesters in Washington D.C. celebrating Joe Biden being called as the winner by major news outlets on Saturday. Many lined up to flip their middle fingers at Trump as he returned from golfing.
Trump’s presidential motorcade made up of a dozen all-black SUVs and flashing police cruisers drove past hundreds of critics holding up their middle fingers and screaming “bye” as he returned from golfing. Boos reverberated around the streets of Washington and other U.S. cities as CNN, Fox News and other major news networks officially declared Biden the winner on Saturday afternoon. CNN host Anderson Cooper noted that Trump was greeted by crowds flipping him off as he returned from the Sterling, Virginia, golf course.
Trump critics lining the streets of the nation’s capital held up posters saying, “You’re Fired!” and “No More Bulls**t,” as the motorcade drove back to the White House.

Around the same time, Trump responded to the AP and other news outlets calling it for Biden by declaring, “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!” The tweet was flagged by Twitter moderators as misleading, one of dozens marked as potentially false over the past few days.
Signs reading “Joe Bye-Don” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” were waved by Biden supporters at the president’s motorcade. Getty and AFP wire photographs show Trump pushed up against the window of his SUV as demonstrators gave him thumbs down and middle finger gestures just feet away. D.C. police and Secret Service agents were posted up along the route back from the golf course.
Several photos depict a woman in Arlington walking up to Trump’s motorcade and pressing her middle finger up to the glass.
“#LoserTrump watches celebrations of his defeat as he returns to the White House from his golf resort at taxpayers’ expense. Sprawling crowds celebrate his defeat and flip off his motorcade,” remarked Spanish politician and frequent Trump critic, Alfons López Tena.
CNN, Fox News and other outlets had not yet called the election in Biden’s favor when Trump left to go golfing Saturday morning. But by the time he returned to the White House, hundreds of the president’s critics had gathered outside the location to celebrate. They sang, “Na nah nah, hey hey hey, goodbye,” and chanted, “Lock him up.”
One Washington man celebrating Biden’s presumed victory, who was interviewed by the cable news network, said the president “lost the popular vote twice.”
“We know the president was on the golf course earlier today when the—or was on his way—when the call was made by CNN and then other news organizations as well,” host Anderson Cooper noted.
Newsweek reached out to the White House for additional remarks Saturday evening.
