For the past six years, Macalester has invested in Enbridge, the company that is currently constructing the Line 3 pipeline through indigenous land in violation of treaty rights in northern Minnesota.

Former leaders of the student rejection organization Fossil Free Mac found this information while investigating Macalester’s investments in December 2020.

Macalester students, staff and teachers have worked for years on the ongoing movement to stop Line 3. Since Enbridge began construction of the pipeline in November 2020, several students have been arrested for physically blocking construction on the pipeline site in northern Minnesota.
