Dow's 167-point climb led by gains in shares of Inc., Microsoft

Powered by strong returns for shares of Inc. and Microsoft, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Thursday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, +0.49% is trading 167 points (0.5%) higher, as shares of Inc. CRM, +3.13% and Microsoft MSFT, +2.61% have contributed about 25% of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Inc.’s shares have risen $5.95, or 2.8%, while those of Microsoft have climbed $5.69 (2.4%), combining for a roughly 77-point bump for the Dow. Walt Disney DIS, +2.17%, Visa V, +2.22%, and American Express AXP, +1.98% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.58-point swing.
