Dow Inc., Chevron share losses contribute to Dow's nearly 125-point fall

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Dow Inc. and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Thursday morning. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -5.52% and Chevron CVX, -1.60% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.43% was most recently trading 123 points, or 0.4%, lower. Dow Inc.’s shares are down $2.82 (4.4%) while those of Chevron have declined $1.50, or 1.5%, combining for an approximately 28-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Walgreens Boots WBA, -1.91%, JPMorgan Chase JPM, -1.04%, and Amgen Inc. AMGN, -1.41%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
