IREDELL COUNTY, NC — New jobs are coming to Iredell County. VPI Quality Windows is investing nearly $8 million in a new production facility in Statesville that will create 235 new jobs for the county, North Carolina Department of Commerce announced Tuesday.
VPI Quality Windows manufactures custom windows for multi-family and commercial applications.
“Manufacturers know that North Carolina is a great place to grow and thrive due to our strong workforce and welcoming communities,” Gov. Roy Cooper said. “This investment will bring good jobs to Statesville and boost our economy.”
The new Statesville facility is the second manufacturing facility of VPI Quality Windows, which is owned by Charlotte-based parent company JELD-WEN. The company currently employs nearly 500 people at a Wilkes County facility and its Charlotte headquarters.
“We have worked hard to create a pro-business environment in Statesville, and this new announcement is an incredible accomplishment,” Statesville Mayor Costi Kutteh said in a statement.
According to state officials, the new jobs will include management, operations support and production staff positions, with the average annual salary of $51,648. The new jobs is expected to have a potential payroll impact in the county of more than $12.1 million annually, the state agency said.
