Dow Inc., Chevron share losses contribute to Dow's 109-point drop

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Friday morning with shares of Dow Inc. and Chevron facing the biggest declines for the blue-chip average. The Dow DJIA, -0.40% was most recently trading 109 points (0.3%) lower, as shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -3.09% and Chevron CVX, -1.84% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Dow Inc.’s shares are off $1.76, or 2.8%, while those of Chevron have declined $1.68 (1.7%), combining for a roughly 23-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Walt Disney DIS, -1.34%, IBM IBM, -1.27%, and Goldman Sachs GS, -1.25%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
