DOVER — When Liberty Mutual first included Dover Children’s Home, a residential treatment program for youth who have experienced emotional trauma, in their Give with Liberty program in 2009, the non-profit could not even begin to imagine what a significant impact these funds would have.
Give With Liberty is a program in which employees can give to their favorite causes through payroll deduction and receive a 50% company match. For over 12 years, Dover Children’s Home has received funds through this platform that have helped pay for summer programming trips, back-to-school clothing and shoes, extra-curricular opportunities for the kids in our care, and so much more. This May, donations hit the $1 million mark from Give with Liberty, according to a press release from the Dover Children’s Home.
Through the most challenging economic times, Liberty Mutual has continuously stepped up to support Dover Children’s Home. What an incredible company to constantly be thinking about the larger community and the needs of its citizens. “This past year has presented an increased and unprecedented need for our community partners like Dover Children’s Home,” said Meg Rotondo, Senior Product Owner at Liberty Mutual. “Through philanthropic giving and our Liberty Torchbearers program, we are proud to support our community heroes, who delivered critical services to those in need amid the unparalleled challenges of the global pandemic.”
Not only has the Give with Liberty program provided the organization’s most significant collective monetary donations over the years, but it has also sponsored wish lists for the kids during the holidays, offered monetary gifts for fundraising events, and sent representatives to volunteer for service projects through their Serve with Liberty program.
Executive Director of Dover Children’s Home Renee Touhey-Childress remarks upon the utter generosity of Liberty Mutual. “Dover Children’s Home is beyond grateful to Liberty Mutual and its employees for the invaluable support we, and all of the area nonprofits, receive. Over one million dollars is incredibly hard to wrap my head around, especially knowing the supports and services that were funded over the years. A simple thank you just does not seem to do justice to our gratitude!”
