Stocks Are Wavering to End Choppy Week of Trading

U.S. stocks were mostly lower on Friday, after a higher-than-expected inflation reading.

By midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 63 points, or 0.2% while the S&P 500 slipped 0.1%. The Nasdaq Composite was little changed. Both the Dow and S&P 500 were falling for the fifth straight session on Friday.
