COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOIO) – As part of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s efforts to make Ohioans healthier, he and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel launch the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge.
According to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, this challenge is a 90-day journey to help Ohio students build healthy habits in physical activity, sleep and nutrition by setting goals.
It’s all about keeping Ohio kids energized about achieving their fitness goals and forming healthy habits they can take with them for the rest of their lives.
The challenge is specifically designed for students to complete individually, outside of the classroom.
Students will learn how to build a workout and lifestyle routine with tools like a YouTube page featuring videos ranging from recipes, highlights of schools and adaptive workout routines.
According to the governor‘s office, 74 schools in Cuyahoga County signed up for the Round 1 of the challenge this fall.
More than 17,000 students are eligible to participate.
Here’s how to join Round 2 when it launches this spring.
