Dow's 75-point jump highlighted by gains in shares of Caterpillar, Boeing

DOW UPDATE

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Monday afternoon with shares of Caterpillar and Boeing delivering the strongest returns for the blue-chip average. Shares of Caterpillar and Boeing are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow was most recently trading 75 points (0.2%) higher. Caterpillar’s shares have risen $3.77 (1.6%) while those of Boeing are up $2.42, or 1.2%, combining for an approximately 41-point boost for the Dow. JPMorgan Chase Apple and 3M are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
