Sandstorm Gold said it would remain a component of the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index. Shares of the Canadian mining company rose 6.1% to $5.25 in after-hours trading Monday.
NexTier Oilfield Solutions and Patterson-UTI Energy are holding talks over a possible merger that would create a bigger player in the oilfield-services industry, according to a Wall Street Journal exclusive. Shares of the oilfield service company NexTier climbed 9.6% to $9, with shares of the provider of drilling and pressure pumping services Patterson-UTI Energy rising 6.3% at $11.46 in after-hours trading following the news.
