A user of a popular weight-loss injection, Loz, revealed that despite shedding an impressive 80lbs with the help of the treatment, she’s faced an unexpected setback – the loss of her derriere.

In a candid admission to her nearly 16,000 TikTok followers, known as @lloztiktok, Loz said: “If you’re losing weight on weight loss injections … you are going to lose your behind. It’s going to happen, it happened to me, it happened to everyone I know on this injection. Your butt will be gone.”

Opening up about the physical discomfort that accompanies the weight loss, she added: “You will feel your tailbone whenever you sit down, it’s a horrible thing.”

To mitigate the issue, Loz recommended proactive measures, urging: “Don’t do what I did which was lost the weight, lost my a**e and then started working on my glutes – starting from bone.”

Dr Rupa Parmar, medical chief at Midland Health, also weighed in, advising those using the injections to eat with intent. She highlighted the importance of diet by stating: “Ideally, you should aim to eat between 1.0 and 1.2 grams per kilogram of your body weight per day.”, reports the Daily Record.

The health expert further stressed the significance of regular strength training to maintain muscle integrity, suggesting: “It’s also a good idea to work with a dietitian to create a plan that’s right for you, so you can stay healthy and strong.”

Chloe Thomas, a personal trainer and women’s health expert, has underscored the importance of maintaining muscle mass while losing weight. “If you want to rebuild muscle after taking weight loss jabs, the key is progressive overload so by consistently challenging your muscles through resistance or strength training. This can be done with weights or bodyweight, but the aim remains the same in that you need to gradually increase intensity over time.”

Emphasising on nutrition, she mentioned, “I would advise against weight loss jabs if you are not doing it alongside a nutritionist, a personal trainer and a doctor.”

She noted that some individuals on weight loss injections may compromise muscle mass due to inadequate strength training. Thomas warned that not only fat but also muscle could be lost without correct exercise practices.

Meanwhile, The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) cautioned against purchasing weight-loss medication from unregulated vendors, such as beauty parlours or social media outlets, this week. The authority made it clear that these transactions are not only illegal but may also pose considerable health hazards.

The MHRA further advised: “The only way to guarantee you receive a genuine GLP-1 medicine is to obtain it from a legitimate pharmacy, including those trading online, with a prescription issued by a healthcare professional.”
