Indian stock markets closed higher for the third straight session on June 26, with both benchmark indices posting strong gains. The Sensex jumped 1,000 points to end at 83,755.87, while the Nifty rose 304 points to close at 25,549. Both indices were up 1.21%.

NTPC

NTPC will begin commercial operations of Unit-3 (660 MW) at the Barh Super Thermal Power Project in Bihar from July 1. This is part of Stage-I of the plant. The total capacity of the project is 3,300 MW. Other units under Stage-I and Stage-II are already operational.

UltraTech Cement

UltraTech Cement has started its second grinding mill at the Maihar plant in Madhya Pradesh. This new unit adds 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to its production. The first mill at the site was commissioned in March 2025. With this, the company’s domestic grey cement capacity rises to 186.86 mtpa. Its global cement capacity, including overseas units, now stands at 192.26 mtpa.

PB Fintech

Founders of PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar, sold a combined stake of nearly Rs 919.8 crore on June 26. Alok Bansal, Executive Vice Chairman, sold 16.5 lakh shares worth Rs 300.5 crore. Yashish Dahiya, Chairman and Group CEO, sold 34 lakh shares worth Rs 619.3 crore.

Hitachi Energy

Hitachi Energy India has received an order from Power Grid Corporation of India. The company will supply 30 single-phase transformers rated at 765 kV and 500 MVA. These units will support long-distance power transmission. The move comes as India works to expand its renewable energy and electrification network.

HCL Technologies

HCL Technologies has launched new services in partnership with Salesforce. The offering focuses on Salesforce Agentforce, a platform that helps businesses build AI-powered workflows. The services are aimed at clients in finance, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing.

Power Mech

Power Mech Projects has secured contracts worth Rs 159 crore from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. The work involves setting up grid-connected solar power plants under the PM-KUSUM Component C2 scheme. These solar plants will supply power to rural areas.

IRFC

Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has closed its trading window from July 1, ahead of its Q1 FY26 results. The window will reopen 48 hours after the board meeting to approve the financials.
