As the city of Wenatchee updates its comprehensive plan and other planning projects and initiatives, the communities shaped by those outcomes are poised for lasting transformation as the city grapples with a new identity.

The most recent Wenatchee Urban Area Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis, published April 21, identified the region’s primary housing challenges: aging housing stock, housing cost burden and a lack of affordable housing.

A crane is in use at The Majestic Apartments, a downtown multifamily housing development, on June 17.





In 1901, this three-story building was Chelan County’s first courthouse, located at Kittitas Street and Wenatchee Avenue. The Majestic Apartments development is under construction next door. The original courthouse and former jailhouse still stand and are undergoing historic renovation.
