LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – This weekend, you have the chance to tour the 2025 St. Jude Dream Home in Lexington up close for yourself.
The home is part of The Grand Tour of Homes and will be open both Saturday and Sunday.
With just about 3700 tickets left out of 10,000, the folks at Mulberry Builders are putting on the finishing touches and they hope seeing it in person might entice you to buy a ticket for a chance to win it.
The home at 4108 Meadowlark Road was just a plot of land in February, but now, in July, it is ready for you to see all it has to offer.
“We are right at the very end, it might not look like that if you walk around because it’s a mess, but we are doing the final touches. We are putting mirrors in, door hardware in, and then we have to clean up the job site,” said Chris Mulberry.
Chris Mulberry with Mulberry Builders hopes you will come and tour the Dream Home as part of the Grand Tour of Homes.
“So, the Grand Tour of Homes put on by the BIA is just a great event in general. It brings tons of local people to see a bunch of builders’ homes. So, being able to put this Dream Home in, we automatically have a ton of people that are going to be coming to the neighborhood to see the house,” said Mulberry.
With a big-ticket goal of selling 10,000 tickets and raising $1 million, he hopes seeing it in person makes you want to support St. Jude.
“We are already over halfway to that goal, so hopefully people will come out this weekend and next weekend and buy a ticket,” said Mulberry.
When it comes to another Dream Home build, this is the third for Mulberry Builders, and this year features a new design specifically for the lot and some other new features.
“We got a new style of cabinetry we put in. Of course, you still get the same stuff we always do, the Bosch appliances, the Wi-Fi coffee maker that everybody loves, but just the tile we have put in the bathrooms, the lighting fixtures, all that stuff is a little different,” said Mulberry.
Every dollar raised through this Dream Home build goes right back to St. Jude and its mission of treating sick children.
No child at St. Jude ever receives a bill not for travel, treatment or lodging and it is your support that makes that all possible.
And it is what makes the work that goes into this home from so many so very extra special.
“We’ve got people who they just pour their heart into this project, and they say whatever you need, we are there for you, and again, we are on a tight timeline and people are here just working as hard as they can to make sure we hit that deadline,” said Mulberry.
And as for hitting that $1 million, Chris Mulberry says come see the house and buy the ticket.
“Somebody is going to buy a house, might as well be you,” said Mulberry.
