Katherine Schwarzenegger captured a fun family outing on social media, including a rare photo featuring her younger brother, Christopher.
In an Instagram post shared Aug. 22, Katherine Schwarzenegger posted a series of photos from a day on the boat with her family.
Among the photos was a solo snap of her younger brother, Christopher Schwarzenegger, months after he got candid about his weight loss. In the photo, he was leaning against the side of the boat while on his phone, donning a short-sleeved white button down and a pair of salmon shorts.
Katherine Schwarzenegger shared several more pictures from the day, including multiple snaps of her husband, Chris Pratt. She also included photos posing with her mom, Maria Shriver, uncle, Anthony Shriver and cousin, Joey Shriver.
“A perfect day,” Katherine Schwarzenegger captioned the post.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver are parents to four children: daughters Katherine Schwarzenegger and Christina Schwarzenegger, and sons Patrick Schwarzenegger and Christopher Schwarzenegger. The “Terminator” star is also father to son Joseph Baena, who he welcomed with his former housekeeper.
While his three older siblings have more public facing careers, Christopher Schwarzenegger has stayed out of the spotlight.
His father gave rare quotes about his son and his health journey during a June interview with The Sunday Times, telling the publication, “I could never go and say to him, you’re overweight.”
“We just kept introducing healthy foods. We introduced him always to the gym and all of that kind of stuff,” he added. “And then, out of nowhere, he decided that he wanted to be lean. And now he is. So that is of course fantastic, the self-discipline and the self-motivation. I always felt one day it will have to come from him — and it did.”
Christopher Schwarzenegger also spoke about his weight loss publicly at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May, per People.
During the event, he reflected on his struggles with his weight over the years, which he said dated back to high school. He also cited a 2019 trip to Australia where he said that his weight was “prohibiting” him from “doing the everyday activities.”
“It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error,” he said of his weight loss. “And even still to this day … when you’re saying, oh, before and after photos … I don’t feel like I’m an after yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.”
Christopher Schwarzenegger also discussed what lifestyle changes helped him lose weight, including how he was able to cut bread out of his diet after giving up the food for Lent.
“I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,’” he explained. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so I lost 30 pounds just through that.”
