Later, the “Wild Ones” singer, 40, made a comment on his dramatic weight loss, which allowed him to slip into his designer clothing. “I can fit in Louis Vuitton now. Pray for my bank account,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Sept. 15.

Jelly embarked on his weight loss journey in 2022, having previously weighed 550 lbs. That year, he told Music Mayhem that his goals for 2023 were to focus on his health and “conquer the demon” that was his weight, a struggle that landed him the nickname Jelly Roll by his mother.

In 2024, Jelly told PEOPLE that he had lost 110 lbs. by changing his lifestyle to prioritize exercise and making healthier food choices. He also estimated that he lost between 60 and 70 lbs. of that weight during his Beautifully Broken tour, which was four months long.

“It’s cool because there was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour was the opposite,” the Grammy nominee said. “It revolved around alcohol and drugs. And now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day.”

That year, Jelly also revealed that he’d shaved off around 70 lbs. from walking and running two to three miles a day while training for the 2 Bears 5K with Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

Changing the way he eats has also had a huge impact on his weight loss journey too (he previously told PEOPLE about his struggle with food addiction) with the help of nutritionist Chef Ian Larios, who he brought along on his Beautifully Broken tour to cook him high-protein meals.

Amid his openness about losing weight, the dad of two has also been candid about going through the process “naturally” and opting out of using Ozempic for fear of experiencing side effects of the injectable (although he’s said he’s not completely against the GLP-1).

“I just was afraid of it … As a singer, few things scare me more than acid reflux. Like, you’ll watch me get up out of a bed, I’ll burp and wake up panicked and go take something for it. You know? Because that stuff will just rip the vocal cords.”

He’s since opened up about another goal tied to his journey — making the cover of Men’s Health by 2026. “I wanna have one of the biggest transformations,” he said in a December 2024 episode of the Dumb Blonde Podcast.
