Nvidia stock is still getting plenty of love: Opening Bid stock of the day

view original post

The market remains all in on Nvidia (NVDA).

Nvidia is the Opening Bid stock of the day, and it’s not simply because it continues to be one of the hottest tickers on our platform. Nor is it because Nvidia has revealed key deals with both OpenAI (OPAI.PVT) and Alibaba (BABA) this week.

The reason is that you — the Yahoo Finance community — continue to share bullish views on Nvidia stock in our new community channel.

And you aren’t alone.

“Nvidia is a core holding for us,” Crossmark Global Investments chief markets strategist Victoria Fernandez said on Opening Bid (video above).

Let’s walk through what the wider community on Yahoo Finance is signaling on Nvidia right now.

First, as Nvidia’s stock price has turned higher again in the past five sessions, we are seeing more interest in the information on Nvidia’s ticker page on Yahoo Finance. You can see that in the chart below.

That is a great sign that investors are doing their homework on Nvidia and want to stay engaged with the most important stock in the market.

Second, the portfolio changes in the chart below show the community is likely adding to their Nvidia positions. Why? The fundamentals seem to warrant it, which investors are likely seeing from their research.

It’s also worth noting that 93% of the sell-side analysts that cover Nvidia rate the stock a Buy or Strong Buy, according to Yahoo Finance data.

“I do think there’s more room to run here [in Nvidia and AI trades], and you want to make sure you have exposure to some of these names in your portfolio,” Fernandez added.

One last point on Nvidia came from my friend and mentor Jim Cramer early this morning: Nvidia’s stock still looks cheap from a valuation perspective.

Shares only trade at 28 times estimated earnings for Nvidia’s next fiscal year. That’s not bad at all.
