Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Ling Ji jointly hosted the 19th meeting of the China-Poland Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation with Poland’s Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski in Beijing on Tuesday, according to the website of China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

Speaking at the meeting, Ling said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, China-Poland economic and trade cooperation has maintained steady and healthy development, achieving fruitful results. China is willing to continue strengthening cooperation with Poland in trade, investment, connectivity, and infrastructure construction, and hopes that Poland will provide a fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises, said the MOFCOM official.

Ling noted that Poland is an important member of the EU and hopes that Poland will promote mutual engagement between the EU and China, exercise caution in applying restrictive trade measures against China, resolve economic and trade frictions through dialogue and consultation, and jointly safeguard the multilateral trading system centered on the World Trade Organization.

Baranowski stated that Poland attaches great importance to developing economic and trade cooperation with China, and hopes to further expand Polish agricultural exports to China. He also welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Poland, and seeks to deepen bilateral cooperation in new energy, electric vehicles, logistics, and other fields, according to the MOFCOM.

According to the official website of the Polish government, Poland’s economic relationship with China is multifaceted, and it has been evolving dynamically as China’s role in the global economy continues to grow. In recent years, with Poland’s increasing share in the flow of goods and people between China and Europe, cooperation in transportation and logistics has been steadily expanding. Currently, China is Poland’s largest economic and trade partner in Asia, while Poland is China’s largest economic and trade partner in Central and Eastern Europe.
