The International Strategy Institute (ISI) has officially announced that the 13th World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF) will be held on 2 December 2025 at AsiaWorld–Expo, Hong Kong, bringing together influential leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss the future of global economic cooperation.
Carrying the theme “Empowering Global Prosperity Through Innovation, Connectivity and Shared Progress”, the Forum will examine how artificial intelligence, digital trade, emerging technologies, and shifting supply-chain dynamics are reshaping global commerce. Delegates from ASEAN, China, Europe and beyond are expected to participate.
Malaysia’s Ambassador to China, His Excellency Dato’ Norman bin Muhamad, will officiate this year’s Forum, reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening regional economic connectivity, particularly timely as Malaysia holds the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
Since its establishment in 2009, WCEF has evolved into a premier platform connecting China with the global business community. Previous editions have been held in major international cities including Kuala Lumpur, Hangzhou, and Qingtian, attracting senior policymakers, CEOs, economists and industry thought leaders.
This year marks a significant milestone as the WCEF will co-host a joint Opening Ceremony with 2025 Global Innovation Show Global Innovation Summit. This collaboration highlights the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and global economic transformation, positioning Hong Kong as a strategic gateway connecting East and West.
Founder of WCEF and Chairman of the International Strategy Institute (ISI), Mr. C.Y. Cheah, stated: “The 13th WCEF comes at a pivotal moment for the global economy, as nations and industries navigate rapid technological disruption, shifting supply chains, and new forms of global economic cooperation. Today, there is unprecedented opportunity to strengthen collaboration between China and the wider international community in areas such as digitalisation, innovation, and sustainable development. Hong Kong, renowned for its global connectivity, financial strength, and gateway role to the Greater Bay Area, stands as an ideal venue for this important dialogue.”
The Forum will also feature high-level panels, a business networking reception, and cross-border partnership discussions.
Registration is now open, and interested organisations, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and youth associations are encouraged to participate.
