Jelly Roll Says Weight Loss Improved His Sex Drive: I’m ‘Chasing’ Wife Bunnie Xo Around the House

Jelly Roll is crediting his weight loss for improving his sex life with wife Bunnie Xo.

“My testosterone level — and I’m cool to talk about this openly — was of a preteen boy,” the country singer, 41, said in his Men’s Health cover story published on Friday, January 2. “When I went in there for the test, it was bad.”

A normal testosterone level for a man the same age as Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) typically ranges from 300 to 900 ng/dL. However, for men struggling with obesity, the number can be below 300.

“The world opened up when I seen it on paper. I was like, That’s my testosterone level? I mean, dude, we’re talking a 57,” Jelly Roll continued.

Jelly Roll explained that before his weight loss journey, he struggled to get aroused despite being madly in love with Bunnie Xo (real name Alisa DeFord), whom he wed in 2016.

“You can’t get it up without T,” he explained. “I was married to a smoke show, and I was still struggling.”

Before beginning his fitness journey, Jelly Roll weighed 540 pounds. Now, he’s lost nearly 300 pounds, feeling happier while living in a “dramatically different world.”

“Now it’s a totally different thing. I’m chasing her around the house, you know what I’m saying?” Jelly Roll teased. “I’m like a teenage kid again! I’m like the Pink Panther: I bust out of every corner. And she opens the cabinet and I go, ‘Hi!’ ”

Jelly Roll shared that he embarked on his health journey without using GLP-1 weight loss medication. Instead, he went to therapy to treat his addiction to food.

“Even before I got into getting my blood work done, I went and got mental health therapy about my overeating. I started treating my food addiction like what it was: an addiction,” he told the outlet. “Why did I treat cocaine a certain way? I went to meetings for cocaine and found a sponsor and detoxed off of it and s*** myself and went through real hard life-changing emotional choices to get off cocaine and codeine. I didn’t look at the food addiction different. Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me.”

Last month, Jelly Roll opened up about how he and Bunnie Xo, 45, struggled to be intimate before he lost weight.

“My sex life with my wife was horrible,” the musician said during a December 2025 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “Dude, I married a f***ing big-tittied, blond, beautiful woman, you know what I mean? I married the kind of woman that makes you smile when you cry. I couldn’t even get aroused, I was so big.”

Despite their struggles, Bunnie Xo remained by her husband’s side, cheering him on during his weight loss journey. The influencer shared a playful video celebrating his accomplishment.

“When you have to check and make sure he’s still your squish after all the weight loss,” she wrote over the August 2025 TikTok video and added the caption, “Bestie #jellyandbunnie.”
