- A Kiambu man, known as Mr Mistariful from Kabete, has turned online trolling into a blessing after being mocked for living in a mabati (iron sheet) house
- Mistariful shared videos on TikTok discussing how some women marry for money, which led to a female troll shaming him for his living conditions, calling him poor and unfit to give advice
- Netizens rallied behind him, offering to help him build a new house, with some pledging bags of cement and KSh 10,000
A Kiambu man has had the last laugh after a woman who intended to embarrass him for living in a mabati house ended up being a blessing in disguise.
The man who lives in Kabete and identifies himself as Mr Mistariful has been posting videos on TikTok in his mabati house, but this put him on a collision course with a troll.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the TikToker said it all started when he posted a clip in his house, commenting on women who marry for money, opining that they do so because they want to improve their lives financially.
However, this lady was so offended by my video, and that is when the trolling happened.
“She commented that I should not advise anyone because I live in a mabati house and am poor. She wrote many trolling comments, plainly shaming me for living in a mabati house,” he said.
Mistariful, who said he is a Kikuyu rapper, narrated that he highlighted her comment and made a video from it, and that is when the woman’s mean comments vexed many.
Netizens came out to support him, many pledging to buy him bags of cement so that he could build a new house.
“So far, I have received several pledges and KSh 10k to start the construction. I am still waiting until I can have enough to buy building materials. I am so thankful to those who have supported me,” he said.
“When I started making videos on TikTok, I knew I would have to one day run into trolls. So, in as much as her comments were mean, I did not take offence because I have always been proud of my mabati house,” he added.
