Raising Cane’s is giving thanks to some of its employees with not just raises and promotions, but by helping them buy their first homes.
Raising Cane’s announced its First-Time Home Buyer Program in 2023, which helps employees across the company purchase their first home by contributing $10,000 to the closing costs.
As of Oct. 7, Raising Cane’s has helped 54 employees buy their first homes, but CEO A.J. Kumaran said the intent is to help hundreds more in the coming years.
This benefit comes on the heels of an extremely successful year for the company, with sales up 33% year over year.
“We have our sights set on becoming a top 10 U.S. restaurant brand with more than 1,600 restaurants, 150,000 crew, $8 million AUV, 100,000 community partners and $10 billion in sales,” Kumaran said. “We are well on our way to achieving this growth, and we owe it all to our leaders and crew.”
Kumaran said he believes that offering this type of benefit fosters strong leaders, which is why the chain is doing so well. He called it “simply the right thing to do.”
