Disregard what the slim celebrities and television adverts suggest – shedding weight is a tough task.
Whether it’s through physical activity, dieting, or a combination of both, it’s incredibly difficult to shed those extra kilos and maintain the new weight. Often, it requires significant changes to your daily routine and breaking habits that have been ingrained for years.
However, there appears to be one small action you can take that could aid in achieving your goal – and it has nothing to do with food or exercise.

Research conducted by the experts at WeightWatchers, now rebranded as WW, indicates that many of their members found success when they regularly updated their online followers about their new healthy lifestyle, reports the Mirror.
The study revealed that individuals who kept an online diary of their daily activities and shared it with friends and followers were motivated by the positive feedback they received.
Over half of the participants stated that the support from a weight loss community was vital in altering their eating habits, and 53 per cent posted pictures of their meals on social media.
Claudia Nicholls, marketing director of the company, expressed her views on the power of community support in lifestyle changes: “The support of a community has always proved to be an effective way of forming and sustaining healthy habits, but with the explosion of online communities there has never been an easier or more affordable way to tap into the power of the crowd for support and inspiration.
“Weight Watchers own social community for members, Connect, which sees over 14,000 daily posts in the UK alone, provides our members with instant access to a community of people who are on similar journeys to them. Bringing little rituals like posting pictures into our lives quickly creates habits that are hard to give up, which can have a life-changing impact, by helping to shape how we live, how we feel and, ultimately, who we become.”
