According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment increased by 37,500 from November 2024 to December 2024, the highest total in the country.
TEMPLE, Texas — The Texas job market is strong.
In a report published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday, Texas was reported to have the highest rate of job creation through 2024.
The Texas job market surged with more than 284,200 new positions, beating out labor markets in California (180,500) and Florida (147,900).
Between November 2024 and December 2024, Missouri and Texas experienced the largest job growth spurt.
Missouri’s employment market increased by 11,200 while the Lone Star State more than tripled that rate with 37,500 roles based in Texas.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and Texas Workforce Commission, the state added 284,000 jobs in a year span from December 2023 to December 2024.
Governor Greg Abbott called Texas the country’s “undisputed jobs leader” in a press release.
“Texas offers businesses the freedom to succeed and hardworking Texans the tools to prosper. As a result, more Texans are working than ever before in the history of our great state. By unleashing the power of entrepreneurs and innovators and investing in education excellence and career training, we will remain the national leader in job creation and fuel America’s jobs engine,” Abbott continued.
