Tesla stock is usually volatile after earnings. Technical analysts can help fundamentally minded investors work through the inevitable ups and downs.
“Tesla’s last [resistance] was near $440, and its most recent low point was around $370,” says CappThesis founder and market technician Frank Cappelleri. “[Tesla stock] would need to trade above or below that range for anything to materially change from a technical standpoint.”
Cappelleri isn’t making a fundamental call on Tesla stock. Market technicians look at stock charts to get a sense of where investors have bought and sold shares in the past. Changes in trading behavior can signal changes in investor sentiment.
