Apple and a Majority of S&P 500 Stocks Are Rising Amid DeepSeek Tech Stock Selloff

Stock market breadth held up well in Monday morning trading, but a selloff among stocks linked to the artificial-intelligence trade was weighing on the S&P 500.

The S&P 500 was down 1.7%, even though 324 of its members were on the rise. Among them was Apple, the only member of the Magnificent Seven group that was higher on the day.

“Ironically, all anyone could talk about last week concerning [Apple] was how it’s overvalued and missed the boat on AI,” writes Bespoke Investment Group co-founder Paul Hickey. “Today, that lack of investment in AI is being looked at as a plus!”
