Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Thursday reaffirmed China’s role as a stabilizing force in the global economy, while addressing a media query about China’s role amid rising economic uncertainties in the world.

Due to growing global uncertainties and economic instability, the world needs countries to step up as economic stabilizers and leaders, the spokesperson said.

Lin noted that China advocates for inclusive and equitable economic globalization, stressing the need for all nations to collaborate in expanding and sharing the global economic pie, ensuring equal participation and benefits, rather than seeking one-nation dominance.

China will continue to prioritize development on the international agenda, uphold the vision of a community with a shared future for the mankind, and remain committed to serving as a driving force in the global economy, enhancing global economic stability and certainty, said the spokesperson.

He said that as the world’s second-largest economy, China plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and efficiency of global supply chains.

China contributes approximately 30 percent to global growth annually and serves as the primary trading partner for over 150 countries and regions. China has consistently ranked as the world’s largest exporter and the second-largest importer, according to the spokesperson.

In recent years, China has accelerated the development of new quality productive forces to drive high-quality economic growth, fueling global economic transformation and industrial upgrading.

Lin said that China is committed to expanding high-level openness, enhancing the business environment and further reducing market access restrictions, unlocking its vast market for businesses from all countries.

China is enhancing global connectivity through efficient logistics networks like the China-Europe Railway Express and the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, driving regional prosperity and improving livelihoods, Lin said.

Meanwhile, China is at the forefront of the global green and low-carbon transition, offering cost-effective, climate-friendly technologies and providing low-carbon development solutions for countries in Global South.

Lin noted that China has launched hundreds of clean energy and green development projects in Africa this year, including photovoltaic power stations in Kenya and the De Aar wind farm project in South Africa, with locals expressing gratitude for China’s role in bringing much hope to their communities.
