China will continue to build itself into a major developing country, a major consumer market, and a major innovation hub, contributing its development strengths to meet the needs of the world economy, Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Thursday.
The remarks came in response to media inquiries about what role China can play in the development of the world economy amid increasing instability and uncertainty in the global economic and trade environment as the 2025 Summer Davos Forum just concluded in Tianjin.
Guo said the 16th Summer Davos was successfully held in Tianjin. Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, met with guests from various countries, and held discussions with representatives of the business community, fully demonstrating confidence in the continued steady growth of China’s economy, and effectively expressing the belief in openness in contributing China’s momentum to the world economy through integration into the global market.
China unswervingly embraces inclusive economic globalization, advocates resolving contradictions and differences through equal consultation, safeguarding common interests through mutually beneficial cooperation, and achieving mutual success through expanded opportunities, Guo said.
We welcome companies from all countries to invest in China, take root in China, and grow together with China. We look forward to working with all parties to do more great, pioneering, and mutually beneficial things, and to create a better future together, Guo noted.
