Dow turns higher in afternoon trading Friday

The Dow Jones Industrial Average turned slightly higher in early-afternoon trading Friday, as it joined the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite in the green.

The Dow, a blue-chip stock gauge for the U.S. equities market, was up 0.1%, according to FactSet data, at last check. The S&P 500 was rising 0.4% on Friday afternoon, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite was gaining 0.7%.
