Fundstrat’s Tom Lee has some advice for investors thinking about dumping stocks
Investors rattled by stock-market volatility unleashed by President Trump’s tariffs would do well to remember what Fundstrat’s Tom Lee calls the rule of “10 best days.”
That is, in any given year (over any given time period), most of the S&P 500’s gains can be attributed to just 10 trading days. Here are the numbers to back up that assertion, included in Lee’s Wednesday-morning client note.
Since 1928:
S&P 500 return: +8%
Ex-10 best days: -13%
Since 2015:
S&P 500 return: +12%
Ex-10 best days: -10%
