Charles Schwab wants to vastly expand trading choices for night owls.

The brokerage firm plans to add stocks in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100, as well as hundreds of exchange-traded funds, to the securities available for trading 24 hours a day, five days a week. Currently, it offers only a few dozen ETFs for round-the-clock trading.
