Small Finance Banks (SFBs) emerged as the leading job creators in the Indian banking sector, with net hiring reaching a five-year peak of 26,736 in FY25, according to the latest Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data. In contrast, private sector banks reduced their workforce, with a net decline of 7,257 employees in FY25, following annual recruitments of 75,000–1,00,000 staff in each of the three years up to FY24.
