In line with the government’s decision to keep offices open on Saturdays, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will operate on the next two Saturdays ahead of the upcoming Eid vacation.

As a result, the stock market will remain open on 17 May and 24 May — both regular weekly holidays — according to a disclosure published on the DSE website today (12 May).

Stock trading and official activities will be held as per the regular schedule on these two Saturdays.

Stock market to close for 10 days during Eid-ul-Azha

The stock market will remain closed for ten days during the Eid-ul-Adha vacation, as government offices and banks will also remain shut, following a government decision.

The DSE disclosure said the government has declared 11 and 12 June as holidays, thereby extending the Eid-ul-Azha vacation.

In alignment with this decision, the exchange will remain closed from 5 June to 14 June for the Eid vacation.

Stock trading and office activities will resume on 15 June, as per the regular schedule.

Nine-day closure during Eid-ul-Fitr

Earlier, the stock market was closed for nine days during the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.

Due to the declaration of an additional one-day holiday, no trading took place from 30 March to 3 April.

Including the government-declared holiday on 3 April and the weekly closures on Friday and Saturday, the stock market experienced a nine-day consecutive shutdown.
