Amazon is reportedly planning to cut 30,000 corporate jobs starting Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Sources familiar with the situation told Reuters that the cuts would come as Amazon attempts to “pare expenses and compensate for (over hiring) during the peak demand of the pandemic.”
Although the full scope of the cuts is unclear it would be the biggest round of job cuts by Amazon since they eliminated 27,000 jobs in 2022.
Since 2023, the company has frequently cut jobs in smaller divisions and in June, Amazon CEO Andy Jessy, said that more corporate jobs would be dissolved in the future as more emphasis is put on AI.
