MIAMI – As the affordable housing crisis continues in South Florida, nonprofit organizations aim to prevent homelessness in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

In Miami-Dade County, where the shortage of affordable units is estimated at over 90,000, The Homeless Trust has an outreach team at 1-877-994-4357. There is also a waiting list sign-up sheet online for emergency shelters.
