Aviva Investors has hired Rory Spriggs as an investment manager to its real estate equity team.
Spriggs will help drive the growth and scale of its housing strategies through strategic partnerships and co-investments, says the global asset management arm of the insurer.
He reports to Aviva Investors head of strategic investment, private markets, Imogen Ebbs.
Spriggs joins from Legal & General, where he was responsible for direct investments in long-term housing sectors, such as single-family rental, urban build-to-rent, and affordable housing.
He played a key role in scaling the housing platforms for the business, serving as a director of the single-family rental business and helped launch its affordable housing fund.
Prior to L&G, he worked for D2 Private, a pan-European, commercial-led investment firm.
Ebbs says: “Aviva Investors has ambitious plans in housing, which is a core constituent of our real estate strategy. Having already invested approximately £ 1.5bn into the sector, we expect to grow that commitment significantly over the next few years.
“Rory brings with him a wealth of experience across the whole sector, which I am sure will be invaluable as we continue to make strong progress in bringing these strategies to life for our investors.”
