In that same video, Schumer spoke about being premenopausal before revealing her experience with Mounjaro.

She announced that her body was getting ready to kick into the menopausal stage and shared that she has been visiting Midi Health, a telehealth company, to guide her at this stage.

“They put me on estrogen and progesterone … and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared… My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex,” she said.

Amy Schumer Revealed Why She Stopped Using Ozempic

Before using Mounjaro, Schumer tried Ozempic, but it didn’t sit well with her body.

The Blast reported that the comedian got candid about her experience with the Type 2 diabetes drug during an appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show. She openly shared that she got nauseous and would vomit a lot while on Ozempic.

Despite “losing 30 pounds so quick,” Schumer battled with the side effects of the drug until she decided she couldn’t take it anymore. She explained that the extreme nausea was because she had the GDF15 gene, which makes her prone to nausea.

Noting that her experience with the drug was “horrible,” she said, “So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was like, veteran. I was like, vomiting, and then you have no energy. But other people take it, and they’re all good. God bless them.”
