Andy Cohen revealed the secrets behind his slimmer figure after losing “a good chunk of weight” this summer.
The king of Bravo tea, 57, brewed up a personal pot of his own on the Tuesday, September 9, episode of his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, during which Cohen admitted it would be “hypocritical” to not speak out since he’s often asked other stars about their body regimens.
Cohen said that he began “micro-dosing a GLP-1” drug in recent weeks to reach his goal — not specifying exactly which one he used.
Wegovy and diabetes drug Ozempic have both become popularized in Hollywood for their weight-loss benefits, as both contain the same active ingredient, semaglutide. Mounjaro, an injectable prescription medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes, has also been used by several stars for weight loss and that drug contains the active ingredient tirzepatide.
“I was really unhappy with my weight,” Cohen shared about how he was able to shed 25 pounds. “My doctor and I talked about this last year, had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to not only address what I was feeling about my weight, but treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure.”
He added, “This is a medication that actually is beneficial to a lot of elements of health.”
Cohen shared that the medicine has helped with “cravings,” noting, “Which I was having a very hard time with, and really forcing myself to be more disciplined with my diet and with working out.”
Cohen added that he has been on a “pretty rigorous” fitness plan with his trainer to maintain his muscle mass while making changes to his diet including no snacking or excess drinking.
“I will also say I feel privileged to have access to a GLP-1 and I think everybody should through insurance,” he pointed out, calling it a “revolutionary drug.”
“I’m so happy also to have been on this journey under the care of a doctor and working with a trainer to make sure that we have done this right,” Cohen went on.
The TV personality shared with listeners that his appetite “returned from the micro-dose, but I feel like it caused me to reframe my relationship with food because it was s***** before this.”
