Orlando Bloom shocked fans when he underwent a major body transformation for his movie The Cut, losing 30 pounds. In light of his weight loss, he addressed speculation on whether or not be relied on GLP-1 to drop the pounds.

While appearing on the Friday, September 5, episode of The Today Show, host Craig Melvin asked Bloom, 48, if he used Ozempic to lose weight. Bloom laughed at the question before he denied using any weight loss drugs amid his transformation.

“None of that,” he said before revealing how he actually lost the weight. “It was cardio, it was boxing, it was weights and then it was just an insane diet, really, like, for the last three weeks, just tuna and cucumber, that was it.”

The film, which was released on Friday, was shot in reverse chronological order. The timeline gave audiences a complete look at Bloom’s body transformation throughout the course of filming. During the interview, he gave a shout-out to the nutritionist who helped him manage his diet, exercise and overall health during the process.

“I had a great nutritionist … who helped me, because it’s definitely not something to try at home,” the Pirates of the Caribbean actor continued. “It was sort of like science, actually, really, because we shot in reverse chronological [order]. He was literally in touch with production every day to make sure that we timed all of the looks in the right way.”

Despite losing weight in a controlled environment, Bloom previously told E! News he “would not recommend this kind of extreme weight loss — particularly without the close supervision of an excellent nutritionist.”

“I have to say that the human body is truly remarkable,” he continued in the interview published on Friday. “Despite the deprivations required to get into the shape you see in the film, my body recovered relatively quickly, and I have returned to a much more sustainable health and fitness routine.”
