Donald Trump said he was “OK” with the heat during a Pennsylvania town hall event, after it reportedly caused some attendees to faint.

Trump’s Monday night event was held in Oaks, Pennsylvania, moderated by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. It was paused twice due to apparent medical incidents among the crowd, which led Trump to call for a doctor while commenting on the heat.

“We have incredible people that come here hours before and it’s a little hot, so they’re with us all the way, respect them and you take your time doctor,” he said.

“We’ve always have great doctors in the audience, we never have too much of a problem,” he added, “Look at the quality of care we have, it’s incredible.”

After the second time he had to halt his speech, Trump returned to the stage and said, “Personally I enjoy this, you know. We lose weight. We can do this, lose four or five pounds, it’s OK with me.”

Noem then responded, “Kamala Harris isn’t doing this.”

Trump went on to laugh at Noem’s joke that the building had no air conditioning becuase in the current economy it would be too expensive. Trump then asked the crowd, “Would anybody else like to faint? Please raise your hand.”

The Republican GOP nominee told the crowd, “I wish we could open the doors,” and after further discussion with the guards to the side of the stage, he added, “For security reasons I can’t, but you know what I should just open them because if anyone comes through those doors you know what’s going to happen to them.”

Trump told the crowd both supporters were OK, saying “they’re both in good shape.”

Rather than taking further questions, Trump said, “Let’s make this a music fest!” asking for his favorite songs to be played — the first being the song Ave Maria by Luciano Pavarotti.

The music went on for 39 minutes, during which time Trump intermittently danced on stage and members of the crowd left the event early, The Washington Post reported.

Newsweek has contacted Trump’s spokesperson for comment via email on the incident.

Commenting on the event, Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that the fainting was due to the fact “everyone was so excited,” adding that it was a “total lovefest at the PA townhall!”
