In late January 2025, Lizzo revealed that she had hit her weight loss goal, which she referred to as her “weight release goal.”

Lizzo works out regularly.
As part of her weight loss journey, Lizzo’s been focusing on exercise that makes her happy, she told the New York Times in 2024. In September, she shared video on Instagram of herself crushing a gym workout that included medicine ball squats, battle ropes, burpees, and more. “IM NOT SKINNY IM FHICK😤,” she wrote in the caption.
She mixes strength training and calorie counting.
In September, Lizzo hilariously celebrated on Instagram allegations that she used Ozempic. But she also revealed that she had been doing weight training and eating in a calorie deficit to lose weight.
Lizzo also gave up veganism after a trip to Japan. “When I got to Japan, I was in awe at how clean and delicious their food was. I indulged in fresh sushi and fluffy egg,” she said in October TikTok. “And I was amazed at how good my body felt the next day.”

She focuses on mental health, too.
In August, Lizzo shared a serene video on Instagram of herself standing in the rain while wearing a bathing suit. “I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace🙏🏾,” she wrote in the caption.
She’s honest when things don’t go according to plan.
In September, Lizzo shared with fans on TikTok that she had a day that didn’t live up to the new standards she’d set for herself. “I overate yesterday and I’m feeling really bad about it,” she wrote. “I’m trying to remind myself that my body needed that nourishment.”
Lizzo added that she was trying to be kind to herself. “If my body deserves comfort, then my brain deserves comfort, too,” she said.

She maintained her confidence.
Since living in the public eye, Lizzo has been all about self-love. And in November, she stressed on Instagram that she’s still the same person. “S/O to everyone that just found out im lowkey cool as hell 😅,” she wrote in the caption of a selfie. “Welcome to the club 🫶🏾💕.”
She encourages self-love.
A month after allegations surfaced that Lizzo was taking weight-loss medication Ozempic, Lizzo hilariously channeled them into a Halloween costume. In an Instagram photo, Lizzo can be seen dressed up like a carton of Ozempic, alongside the words, “Need self love? Try Lizzo! Lose guilt. Gain confidence.” Under “side effects,” it read, “a smile on your face and a pep in your step.” Lizzo wrote in the caption, “Ok Halloween… you can start now 😜.”

She’s looking out for herself first.
Lizzo rang in 2025 with a fiery bikini picture. “2025 is the year of keeping the vibration on a higher frequency than what the world tries to lower it to,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. “Don’t subscribe to the bullsh*t just to make others feel comfortable 🤭 live truthfully and don’t hold back— it’s your world!”
