Midwest LGUs bullish about economic impact of Suroy-Suroy Sugbo

DIFFERENT stakeholders are optimistic about the effects of the three-day Suroy-Suroy Sugbo Midwest tour, which ended on Monday, June 12, 2023.

The Cebu Provincial Government led by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia brought over 400 participants to explore Cebu’s western coast, visiting the towns of Tuburan, Tabuelan, Asturias, Aloguinsan, Pinamungajan, Balamban and Toledo City.

They tried out local delicacies, visited popular tourist destinations and enjoyed different cultural presentations.

Mayors from the six towns and one city cited the possible economic outcome brought about by the event, which not only introduced participants to local products and resources but also brought potential investors.

“It provides us the opportunity to showcase the beauty of our town,” said Pinamungajan Mayor Ana Baricuatro.

Tour guide Ronald Ouano said the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo, Capitol’s flagship tourism program, allows the public to discover areas outside Metro Cebu, which are often overlooked. (RJM)
