A New Jersey company that makes industrial coatings and pigments announced on Thursday plans to invest $7.2 million and create 72 jobs at a new facility in Spartanburg.
Pan Technology Inc., headquartered in Carlstadt, N.J., specializes in manufacturing colorants, coatings and specialty products for industries including furniture, automotive, ink, construction and cosmetics. The company was founded in 1949.
The new facility at 109 Belton Drive in Spartanburg will expand the company’s manufacturing footprint into South Carolina, according to a statement. The site is located near Spartanburg Community College.

The state Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to expand our business with the help from the talented people of South Carolina,” Pan Technology President Michael Rossomando said in a statement. “It’s a privilege to become part of Spartanburg County where we look forward to developing and expanding our products portfolio which is diverse, sustainable and specialized to meet the customer’s objective.”

Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt, who chairs the county’s economic development committee, stated, “Pan Technology couldn’t have picked a better location to align with their core businesses. In Spartanburg County, they’ve found a supportive partner to accommodate their mission and future growth. We welcome them to the Spartanburg team.”
