New Jersey pigment manufacturer to invest $7.2M, create 72 jobs in Spartanburg

A New Jersey company that makes industrial coatings and pigments announced on Thursday plans to invest $7.2 million and create 72 jobs at a new facility in Spartanburg.

Pan Technology Inc., headquartered in Carlstadt, N.J., specializes in manufacturing colorants, coatings and specialty products for industries including furniture, automotive, ink, construction and cosmetics. The company was founded in 1949.

The new facility at 109 Belton Drive in Spartanburg will expand the company’s manufacturing footprint into South Carolina, according to a statement. The site is located near Spartanburg Community College.

Pan Technology of New Jersey announced plans Thursday to build a facility for its pigment and ink manufacturing operation in Spartanburg.

Operations are expected to start by the end of this year. Those interested in jobs should visit the company’s contact page.

The state Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project.

Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt, who chairs the county’s economic development committee, stated, “Pan Technology couldn’t have picked a better location to align with their core businesses.
