A major retirement village is set to include public art according to extra plans put forward recently.
The Lever Gardens complex, which will include more than 60 flats for people over the age of 55, is set to open this autumn in Little Lever.
Further plans put before Bolton Council propose including public art as part of the complex within months of its completion.
A statement said: “Within six months of occupation details regarding the provision of public art, including timescale, shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority.

“The development shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details and retained thereafter.”
The development is being carried out by Bolton at Home, the borough’s biggest housing provider with the plans having been prepared by Pozzoni Architecture.
Lever Gardens is one of the biggest developments that Little Lever has seen in recent years and will be made up of a total of 62 flats, each fitted with a kitchen, bathroom, a living area and one or two bedrooms.
Features included for the benefit of older residents will include emergency alarm system with 24-hour response, while there will also be a buzz in system so that residents can see people who are there before they let them in.
There will be spaces for a range of activities, again with older groups of people in mind, at an on-site residents’ lounge, bistro-cafe, scooter room and landscaped gardens and for residents to get involved in social activities like coffee mornings and bingo.
Some of the flats will also be built with a balcony or terrace included.

The public art plans will be open for neighbourhood consultations for people across nearby Lever Street, Church Street and Dearden Street until Tuesday June 27 this year.
Previous stages of the proposal have included the plans for the complex themselves as well as a construction plan and plans to control the noise and smells resulting from the building work.
Once the consultation deadline has passed, Bolton Council will then decide whether or not to approve this stage of the development by Saturday August 26.
Lever Gardens is currently expected to open by October 2023.
