Udita adopted five important lifestyle changes that gave her positive and sustainable results.
Apart from her overall weight, Udita also managed to lose facial fat – something many people struggle with. According to her, it is a common misconception that you can only lose overall weight by targeting a specific body part. However, according to Udita, this isn’t how the human body works, and reducing overall body fat is key. As the body becomes leaner, facial fat typically diminishes as well. With patience and the right approach, noticeable changes in facial contours can occur.
Udita says the best way to lose weight and sustain it is through calorie deficit – which means you need to burn more calories through workouts than you consume through foods and drinks. According to experts, both your diet and physical activity levels can contribute to a calorie deficit. Generally, a 500-calorie deficit may help with weight loss. Including a mix of nutrient-dense meals and exercises like yoga, walking, running or Zumba can give you gradual and lasting results.
Eat healthy and clean
A healthy and clean diet favours natural, fresh, and unprocessed foods over prepackaged meals and snacks. Udita recommends eating balanced food which provides your body with all the nutrients and minerals it needs to function best. She emphasised moreplant-based foods – especially fruits and vegetables – over animal foods, which are loaded with protein.
According to experts, protein increases satiety and supports fat loss. Also, healthy fats from sources like nuts and seeds help boost metabolism, which is important for weight reduction. She is also an advocate of eating seasonal fruits and vegetables, which provide fibre to promote digestion and fullness.
Hydrate
Drinking lots of water is important not just for the general working of your body but also helps manage facial puffiness. Drinking two to three liters of water daily significantly reduces water retention and supports overall metabolic function – the best way to lose extra flab.
Experts recommend drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily.
Getting uninterrupted and regular sleep and managing stress are important components of a successful weight loss strategy. Udita says she managed to regulate her sleep, which also kept in control the appetite hormones, reduced her cravings for junk and fried foods, and boosted energy levels – while stress reduction techniques like mindfulness and breathing exercises prevented stress-related overeating and improved overall well-being.
Udita said she made sure to sleep for at least seven to nine hours daily to regulate her hormones efficiently, reducing facial swelling as well.
